Originally from Middle Tennessee, I moved to Washington in 2016 to pursue a life long dream of living in the Pacific Northwest. I began working with children, adolescents and adults of varied abilities through local therapeutic recreation programs when I was a teen and into college. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology (minor in Education & Health), a Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis through the University of Cincinnati, a post-graduate certificate for Women in Leadership, and I’m also a Certified Trauma Professional (CTP). Since starting my career in ABA, I have worked in roles as a Behavior Technician, BCBA, Clinical Supervisor and Clinical Director. Outside of ABA I enjoy spending time outside, playing music, and practicing yoga.

Professional Associations: Washington Association of Behavior Analyst (WABA) and the Association of Contextual Behavior Science (ACBS), Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200).

Amanda Clay, MA, LaBA

Assistant Behavior Analyst- Chelan Co. Provider

Hi! I’m Amanda, I recently moved to the Wenatchee Valley from British Columbia. My family loves to be in the mountains! We are always outside with our dog Maverick; hiking, fishing, hunting, or snowboarding. My career in ABA started back in 2015 as a Behavior Interventionist. Since then, I have worked in elementary schools and with numerous home-teams. In those opportunities, I provided behavioral health and educational services to diverse learners who experience Autism Spectrum Disorders, Down Syndrome, Global Development Delay, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, ADHD/ADD, etc. In 2021 I earned my Master’s of Arts in Special Education with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis at Arizona State University. I am thrilled to continue working towards my BCBA certification with the specialized supervision provided by Sarah and Balanced Behavior ABA.

Abby VanderKooi, BS, CBT, RBT

Behavior Technician- Whatcom Co. Provider

I am originally from the Midwest, but I moved to Washington in 2018 to pursue my Bachelors degree in Psychology. My career in ABA started in 2021 where I worked as a Behavior Technician in the Seattle area. In this role I provided behavioral and educational support to neurodiverse clients ages 4-14 in home and school settings. Having recently moved to Bellingham, I am excited to continue providing services in this new community as an RBT here at Balanced Behavior ABA. I am also looking forward to continuing my education to pursue a Masters degree in the field of ABA. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time outside on the water paddle boarding or going on hikes with my dog Frankie! I am also an avid thrifter, and enjoy searching the racks for unique, vintage items.

Katie Scott, AA, CBT, RBT

Behavior Technician- Whatcom Co. Provider

Hi there! I was born in Bellingham, WA and grew up in the area. I moved to California for 12 years where I finished high school and got an Associates Degree in social sciences. I am currently finishing my Bachelors Degree in Social Work. I plan to get into a master program after I graduate this spring. I have worked as a Registered Behavioral Technician for a little over 2 1⁄2 years. My dreams are to combine both social work and my job as a technician to work with a population with Autism Spectrum disorder or other developmental disabilities. When I am not working, I spend my time kayaking, hiking, going to the gym, trying new food places and spending time with my friends and family.
